Field Hydrogeologist

Mr. Lofthouse has worked for BIO-WEST as a field hydrogeologist for nearly 3 years. He is responsible for site investigations and remediation system operation for underground storage tanks (UST) and hazardous waste sites. Additional tasks include overseeing UST removals, preparing spill prevention control and counter measure plans, operating and maintaining remediation systems, preparing nutrient management plans, conducting Phase I investigations, writing reports, conducting groundwater modeling, and surveying land. Mr. Lofthouse is familiar with Federal acts related to chemicals and the environment including
the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act, Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act, and Occupational Safety and Health Act. He has 4 years of experience and a B.S. in geology from Utah State University.

  • Utah-certified UST groundwater and soil sampler (GS-1497)

  • Utah-licensed commercial pesticide applicator (4001-13730)

  • Utah-certified clandestine drug lab decontamination specialist (DS 0209-46)

  • OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER Certification

  • Well installation, abandonment, and pump tests

  • Phase I and Phase II real estate environmental site assessments

  • Soil, groundwater, wastewater, and methamphetamine sampling
