Company Principal/Watershed Sciences Section Leader/Senior Hydrologist

Mr. Olsen has 20 years of professional experience in watershed sciences and has worked on more than 200 large- and small-scale studies throughout the western United States. Mr. Olsen’s expertise is associated with the fields of fluvial geomorphology, stream hydrology, and riparian ecology. He has managed many stream restoration and rehabilitation projects, instream flow projects, hydraulic modeling, sediment transport and channel condition studies, water-quality studies, and ecological inventories. Additionally, Mr. Olsen has experience managing large-scale multidisciplinary projects that emphasize ecosystem restoration and/or species recovery, and has participated in numerous National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) projects as a water resource specialist. He has completed his coursework for a Ph.D. from Utah State University and holds an M.S. in forestry (forest hydrology) and a B.S. in resource conservation (watershed management) from the University of Montana.
