Wildlife Technician

Ms. Cheney is an adept researcher, report writer, and statistical analyst. Her experience includes conducting point counts of shorebird and grassland bird species; monitoring bird nests; mist netting; collecting noise-level data at point-count and nest sites; banding, handling, and identifying birds; and mapping using GPS units. Ms. Cheney has in-depth knowledge of laws and regulations pertaining to work with wild birds and care of birds in captivity. She has been involved in all levels of research including study design, field and lab work, and project coordination. Ms. Cheney is working on an M.S. degree in wildlife biology and received a B.S. degree in environmental studies with specialization in behavior analysis.
