Fisheries Biologist/Aquatic Ecologist Mr. Kegerries has 9 years of fisheries experience, particularly with threatened and endangered species, and is skilled at sampling, surveying, and monitoring. He currently serves as a fisheries biologist and an aquatic ecologist for several projects. Since 2008 Mr. Kegerries’s efforts have helped establish research needs for various endangered fish species (such as the razorback sucker [Xyrauchen texanus], Virgin River chub [Gila seminuda], Colorado pikeminnnow [Ptychocheilus lucius], and woundfin [Plagopterus argentissimus]). Specifically, he has provided expertise on razorback sucker recruitment and monitoring in Lake Mead, Nevada and Arizona; evaluated backwater habitats on the lower Colorado River in an effort to create habitat for native fish species, such as razorback sucker and bonytail chub (Gila elegans); and assisted with field collection, analysis, and reporting for a multiyear monitoring and research effort on the lower Virgin River fish community, as well as annual monitoring and reporting on the Muddy River fish community. Mr. Kegerries has provided technical and biological expertise related to spikedace (Meda fulgida) for a gas pipeline stream crossing project as well as assisted with native fish sampling on the Green River to establish baseline conditions pertinent to proposed power plant activities. Mr. Kegerries is an adept field biologist and researcher with experience working in a range of aquatic habitats with several fish species throughout the western and midwestern United States. Additionally, he is skilled at compiling, analyzing, and reporting data in written and oral forms, having performed several literature and species status reviews based on historical data as well as organized material to provide species management recommendations. Mr. Kegerries holds an M.S. and a B.S. in biology with emphases in prefisheries and wildlife management, both from Pittsburg State University. | Skills & Qualifications
