Senior Ecologist

With more than 26 years of experience, Dr. Manning has both academic and field expertise. He is familiar with avian, mammalian, reptile, and amphibian species throughout the Southwest. Dr. Manning has written more than 60 scientific reports in professional publications; conducted research for the Nation Park Service; assisted with editing the Texas Journal of Science; and taught zoology, biology, and mammalogy at Texas State University and Texas State University - San Marcos. His skills include expertise in systematics and natural history of North American mammals. Other professional interests include the ecology and natural history of amphibians, reptiles, and birds. Dr. Manning received a Ph.D. in zoology with a minor in museum science from Texas Tech University, and holds M.A. and B.S. degrees in biology from the University of Nebraska.
